| FAM3C

Sequence similarity family 3 member C, also known as FAM3C, is a protein encoded by the FAM3C gene. This gene is a member of the sequence similarity 3 (FAM3) family and encodes a secreted protein containing a GG domain. Altered expression of this protein has been noted in pancreatic cancer-derived cells. Alternative transcript splice variants, encoding the same protein, have been characterized. Its function and expression have also been investigated in the mammalian brain, suggesting that reduced FAM3C levels are associated with the onset of sporadic Alzheimer's disease (AD), highlighting FAM3C as a promising therapeutic target for Alzheimer's disease. Furthermore, FAM3C levels, along with saposin D, have been proposed as a biomarker for AD.

| Linearity
